DC Urges residents to plant maximum number of tree saplings in & around their premises

Ludhiana, April 22

On the occasion of World Earth Day, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik today planted tree saplings at Rakh Bagh and District Administrative Complex, here. On this occasion, she urged the residents to plant maximum number of tree saplings in and around their premises so that all of us can breath in fresh and clean environment.


She was also accompanied by ADC (Rural Development) Amit Kumar Panchal, SDMs Gurbir Singh Kohli and Veneet Kumar, IAS (Under Training) Dr Harjinder Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Harbhajan Singh, besides several others.

While speaking to media-persons on the occasion, the DC said that the sole aim of this tree plantation drive is to ensure maximum green cover in the district through the planting of trees.


She said that such campaigns are need of the hour to check environmental pollution in the state. Soliciting the support of people in this noble cause, she called upon them to plant and upkeep at least sapling for the sake of their coming generations.
