Ludhiana, March 14:
With an aim to improve the public facilities and provide basic amenities to the residents, Ludhiana central MLA Ashok Parshar Pappi and Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga kick started the work to establish public toilets in Field Ganj area on Tuesday.
Accompanied by area councillor Rakesh Prashar, MLAs Prashar and Bagga stated that a large number of residents visit Field Ganj market on a daily basis, but the public toilet facility in the market (situated near Jagraon bridge) was not in good shape.
To facilitate the residents, the project to establish a public toilet has been kick started on Tuesday. The project will be taken up at a cost of Rs 36.78 lakh.
Councillor Rakesh Prashar stated that the project has been commenced on the demand of shopkeepers and MC officials have been directed to ensure good quality work at the site. A store of MC will also be established near the site.
