Ludhiana, September 22:
Moving forward with the agenda of development, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi kick started the work to reconstruct the road leading to GT road from Sundar Nagar area alongside buddha nullah on Friday. Kirpal Nagar road would also be reconstructed under the project. Further, MLA Prashar also inaugurated a tubewell installed on Sikandri road near Khud Mohalla chowk. The tubewell has been installed at a cost of Rs 10.89 lakhs.
The project to reconstruct the roads is being taken up at a cost of Rs 84 lakhs. Apart from benefitting the residents living in these areas, these projects would also prove beneficial for the hosiery industry in the area. MLA Prashar said that the roads were in bad condition and he had taken up the issue with the civic body officials. The project to reconstruct the above stated roads has been commenced and the authorities have been directed to keep a check on the quality of the roads. The legislators further stated that the tubewell installed on Sikandri road would further streamline the water supply in Khud Mohalla and adjoining areas. MLA Prashar stated that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is working for the overall development of the state. A large number of development works are being taken up in Ludhiana central constituency and the authorities have been directed to keep a check on the quality of the works. They are also working to redevelop a number of parks in the area and continuous efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure. MLA Prashar further stated that strict action will be taken against the concerned contractors or officials, if any discrepancies are found in respect to the quality of works.
