Upkar Singh Ahuja president CICU and Mr. Honey Sethi General Secretary CICU and Mr. Ramesh Kakkar President Jaspal banger Industries met a delegation from National Green tribunal delegation. Along with local officials, joint commissioner, Municipal Ludhiana and ADC Ludhiana. Member secretary and chief engineers PPCB Ludhiana. The National Green Tribunal and National Disaster Response force ( NDRF) team visited to further inquire about the gas leakage incident, which happened on 30/04/2023, where 11 persons lost their lives.
View of the industries is that no evidence were found where industry can be held guilty for the incidents there are many facts which show no evidence found against industry
Approximately 21 units are either closed or at verge of closed due to discontinuity of power or notice issued by the PPCB Department.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU and Mr. Honey Sethi, General secretary of CICU requested the NGT to advise concerned departments to release connection and not take any action until they are found guilty and also sene a representation to Honourable Sh Bhagwant Mann C M Punjab industry in this area is in pathetic condition and support them in hard times
