Ludhiana, May 15
Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulwant Singh Sidhu on Monday assured wholeheartedly support to the existing MSME units in Mixed Land Use (MLU) areas and take up their issue with Chief Minister Punjab, Mr Bhagwant Mann. In a meeting with representatives of CICU led by its president Upkar Singh Ahuja, Sidhu said he would take up the matter with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and appropriate action would be taken to resolve these issues.
Upkar Singh Ahuja said that 25000 units were operating in MLU areas and most of units were from micro sector and to shift these units from zone-1, the government must design exemplary packages like low cost land, no charges for shifting of electricity connection, no CLU changes and availability of loan on low interest rate and easy installments for working and fixed capital requirements. Ahuja also demanded that industrial units especially in the green category who want to continue running their businesses in these areas must not be forced to move out besides Master Plan with MLU areas should be finalised and no deadline must be fixed.
MLA Sidhu said that a meeting with higher authorities would be held in this matter to solve these issues.
