MLA Gurpreet Bassi inaugurates Pakhowal Road Rail Under Pass for commuters

Ludhiana, March 24:

Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi today inaugurated one side of the Pakhowal Road Rail Under Pass (RuB) for commuters and said that this RuB would benefit lakhs of residents residing in the area. He said that due to the ongoing construction of Pakhowal Road RuB and Rail Over Bridge (RoB), there was traffic congestion in the area, but now with the opening of RuB, commuters would be benefitted.

MLA Gogi said that when he went to inspect the site today, he found the RuB was almost complete, and that is why he immediately directed the MC officials to throw it open for commuters so that people do not suffer due to traffic congestion. “I categorically told the MC officials that I don’t want them to organise a special inauguration function, but the RuB should be opened immediately,” informed Gogi.

MLA Gogi said that the stretch is ready for use and commuters travelling from Pakhowal Road side to Sarabha Nagar can use this stretch. Meanwhile, some of the pending works at the bridge will be carried out side by side.

Earlier, he also chaired a meeting with the MC officials where he discussed the status of projects carried out under the Ludhiana Smart City Mission. He directed the MC officials to re-study the design of Malhar Road so that all “faulty” bottlenecks are cleared so that the road is widened

He also visited the Sarabha Nagar Main Market and directed the MC officials to clear existing flaws so that parking space is enhanced. He said that the existing fountain in the market would be shifted to a nearby park and that space would be utilised for parking of vehicles.

During his meeting with MC officials, he issued necessary instructions and directed then to focus on maintaining cleanliness in the city.
